A Rod for a Good Cause!
10/1/09 Many thanks to all who bid on the rod. It has sold. 7/25/09 Our first video series ‘Building your first flyrod’ is now complete. We’ve had a great time building this rod and showing you the process as we went along. The videos are free and available via FaceBook or YouTube. We want to say ‘Thank you!’ to all of our subscribers and viewers for all of the positve feedback we’ve received from all over the world. Stay tuned, we plan on making more videos of Rod Building, Fly Tying, Fly Casting, and more… Now we want this beautiful Flyrod to go a good cause – so this is what we’re going to do… At first we we’re going to host a raffle for this rod, but we’ve discovered that internet based raffles are largley illegal in the United States. So we’ll have to just auction it off (unless one of you has a suggestion for us). We’ll probably use eBay for the auction as it’s familiar to just about everyone. The auction will start later this summer and run for 10 days. The winner of this rod can have this rod labeled with their name if they wish. All proceeds will be donated to the ‘Gila Trout Chapter’ of Trout Unlimited. We’ll send an email to all members of the FlyRodFanatic.com website when the auction starts. So click here to get a free account right now. Don’t worry – we won’t spam you… Quick specs: Rod Blank = St. Croix SCIII Graphite 3F906.2 (9 Foot – 6Wt – Olive Green color) Thread = Gudebrod Olive Green with Gold trim on stripper guides and ferrule Reel Seat = Silver-Nickel uplocking Handle = Super Grade reverse half-wells Guides / Hook-keeper / Tip-top = Hard chrome with TiCH finish Thank you for all your support! |
